Will has been an independent school educator for the past eight years teaching at The Pennington School in New Jersey and St. Francis Episcopal Day School in Houston, Texas.

Jill Champagne - Speech Pathologist

B.S., Communication Disorders - The College of Saint Rose

M.S. in Ed., Communications Disorder - The College of Saint Rose

Jill's background includes working as a clinician as well as a classroom teacher with students with language-based learning disabilities. In addition, Jill also has the trainings in the programs we use including Visualizing and Verbalizing and Wilson Reading System Level I certification.

Treda Collier - Director of Enrollment

B.A., English - University of Hartford

M.A., Liberal Studies - Wesleyan University

Master of Divinity - Yale Divinity School

Treda is a veteran independent school educator and administrator having held senior level positions at Phillips Exeter Academy, Cheshire Academy, Miss Porter’s School and Northfield Mount Hermon. She was most recently the Director of Diversity and Community Life at the University School of Nashville.

Avery Costigan - Director of Annual Giving and Community Relations

B.A., Secondary Education and Art - The Catholic University of America

Avery spent the past year as Wooster’s Stewardship Coordinator. This year she joins the Development staff full-time in her new role. Prior to joining Wooster School, she was a founding member and President of the Ridgefield Education Foundation. Avery’s son Colin will be a Wooster 9th grader, and daughter Cara will be a Wooster 6th grader.

Mike Evans - Spanish Teacher

B.A., Communication - Hamilton College

Ed.M., Entrepreneurship in Education Reform - Harvard University

Mike comes to Wooster after teaching for the past 5 years at Stamford Academy Charter School and New Canaan Public Schools. Mike is currently the Founder and Executive Director of “Full Court Peace, NGO” which unites, strengthens and educates local and global communities through basketball.

Rocio Fields - School Nurse

B.S., Nursing - Sacred Heart University

Rocio, a licensed Connecticut RN, has been a registered nurse for the past 18 years. She has both emergency room nurse and school nursing experience. She was most recently a school nurse at Julia A. Stark Elementary School in Stamford. Rocio’s daughter Emily will be a Wooster 9th grader, and son R.J. will be a Wooster 6th grader.

Katherine Johnstone - Literary Specialist

M.S., Reading and Literacy - Walden University

Katie is trained in Wilson Reading System and Just Words and has extensive experience with assessment, data collection and analysis. She is currently continuing with her education as she pursues an advanced certification as a literacy specialist, focusing on Dyslexia. She most recently taught at Highland Elementary School in Cheshire, CT for the past nine years. Katie’s daughter Charlotte will be a Wooster Pre-K student.

Brittany Nisco - Digital Media Teacher

B.A., Media Production - Western Connecticut State University

Brittany joins the Wooster staff to kick-off our Digital Media curriculum. She is currently the producer, director, and editor of her self-owned production company.

Christopher Priedemann - Upper School Science Teacher

B.S., Chemistry, ACS Environmental Chemistry Designation - Furman University

M.S., Analytical Chemistry - Furman University

M.S., Education - SUNY Oswego

Chris is originally from Long Island and is joining Wooster after living in Albany, NY for several years. He has experience as both a chemistry teacher in an all-boys high school and as a research chemist for a pharmaceutical company.

Paige Salvato - Pre-K Teaching Assistant and Director of Extended Day

B.A., Social Work - Western Connecticut State University

Paige joins the Wooster community with experience facilitating children’s play, as an extended day director, and as a lifeguard. She most recently was the site coordinator of the Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut.

Andrea Szechenyi - International Support Teacher

B.A., German - Mount Holyoke College

M.S., Education - University of Bridgeport

Andrea comes to Wooster to provide instruction to our international students who need assistance with the English language. She has a successful track record of helping students thrive in their academic settings.

Elizabeth Taylor - Pre-K Teaching Assistant

B.S., Elementary Education - Southern Connecticut State University

B.S., Liberal Studies - Southern Connecticut State University

Elizabeth has a passion for working with children and has spent the last few years in independent schools substitute teaching. She also has experience as an associate kindergarten teacher and toddler caregiver.

Rev. Stephen Tickner - Chaplain

B.S, General Studies - University of Central Oklahoma

Master of Divinity - Union Theological Seminary

Stephen is very excited about joining the Wooster community this year as school Chaplain. In addition to his work at Wooster, he is also serving as the new Senior Pastor at Central Christian Church of Danbury where he was called this past January. Previously, Stephen served as the Project Director for the Millennial Leaders Project at Union Theological Seminary in New York. Stephen currently lives in Manhattan with his wife, Bianca and one-year-old daughter, Kayden.

Cameron Virrill - Humanities and English Teacher

B.A., American Civilization - Williams College

M.Ed., English Education - University of Massachusetts, Amherst

Cameron joins the Wooster community with over thirty years of teaching experience. Most recently, he taught at Saddle River Day School in New Jersey and Rye City Schools in Rye, NY.

Laurie Watson - Lower School Spanish Teacher

B.A., Economics, Stanford University

M.A., Teaching a Second Language, Bennington College

California Teaching Certificate, California State University

Laurie comes to Wooster with nearly 30 years of teaching experience at all levels K-12 in both public and private schools.
