Meet a New Teacher: Ms. Herrmann
Posted 09/25/2020 03:22PM

In our first week of Humanities II, we started the year by watching videos about our teachers to learn more about them and since Ms. Herrmann is new this year, I thought it would be fun to find out more about her by interviewing her. We are so excited to have her as a new teacher and can't wait to see how the rest of the year goes!

Where did you work before Wooster?

Before Wooster, I worked at a high school in New Haven.

What made you decide to come to Wooster?

I decided to come to Wooster because it's mission really resonated with me. I believed that I would be a good fit and wanted to have an impact on the curriculum. I believe that Wooster will give me that opportunity.

Were you a teacher before coming to Wooster and if so how long have you been teaching?

I've taught for five years. Two were in Colorado, then I spent a couple of years working in IT before teaching for the last three years in Connecticut.

Did you teach the same subject (Humanities)?

I've taught Health, English, History, Government, and Humanities.

Did you work with the same age group?

I've taught 7th - 12th grades.

What's your favorite memory that you've had in your experience as a teacher?

I have so many amazing memories from teaching that it is hard to pick a favorite. I always love attending my students' graduations and seeing how far they have come.

What is your favorite thing about Wooster so far?

I love how creative the students are. There seems to be a willingness to engage in questioning that is universal.

About WiNK

WiNK (“Wooster Ink”) is Wooster School’s online student news publication. WiNK serves as the student voice of our community, and provides readers with a weekly overview of what's happening in our students' lives, and it gives students a chance to share their interests and voices. The majority of the content is developed in our Upper School Journalism classes, but we also accept contributions from other students and faculty members.
