NFL Playoff Predictions: Divisional Round
Posted 01/15/2021 01:53PM

Editor's Note: As we look back at Trip's predictions from last week, he went 3-for-6. He thought (wrongly) that the Steelers, Titans and Seahawks would win, but correctly chose the Bills, Ravens, and Buccaneers to move on. Let's see how he does this week...

Packers vs. Rams: Last week, the Rams pulled off a huge upset against the Seattle Seahawks. This week they face a red hot Packers team led by Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams. Rams cornerback, Jalen Ramsey can guard just about anyone in the league except Davante Adams. Adams will have a great game and will help the Packers win this week, advancing them to the NFC Championship.

Buccaneers vs. Saints: Rumor has it Drew Brees' legendary career will come to an end after this season. The last time his team faced the Buccaneers this year was in Week 9. The Saints completely shut down the Buccaneers' offense, winning 38-3. However, Tom Brady and his team want revenge. Since Week 9 when they played, the Buccaneers are a whole new team and show no signs of stopping. Buccaneers will win this in a close game, ending Drew Brees' career.

Browns vs. Chiefs: The Browns pulled off a huge upset against the Steelers last week, winning their first playoff game in 25 years. They put up 28 points in the first quarter, setting an NFL record for the most points in the first quarter of an NFL playoff game. Unfortunately for the Browns, they play the former Super Bowl Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs' offense is loaded with All-Star talents such as Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce. The Browns just got back their star cornerback Denzel Ward after missing him the last two weeks due to Covid-19 issues. Ward will likely be able to guard Hill this game but that won't be enough to stop the rest of the Chiefs offense. The Chiefs will win this.

Bills vs. Ravens: The Bills snuck out with a win against the Indianapolis Colts last week. They showed signs of poor defense consistently throughout the game but they play a weaker offense this week against the Baltimore Ravens. Ravens quarterback, Lamar Jackson, has once again performed to the level of his MVP season last season. He rushed for 136 yards and a TD against the Titans. On the other side of the ball, cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters have been playing great, as usual, but they have a tough matchup this week against wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Diggs has a top 3 wide receiver talent all year and has yet to have a bad game. Diggs will help the Bills get a win this week.
