Week 5 Projections

This is my college football score projections for Week 5. This is what I think and what I think the scores will be based on the performances of each team so far this season.

4 Penn State @ 3 Iowa

4 Penn State travels to Iowa City this weekend to take on the #3 Hawkeyes at Kinnick. These two defenses are the best in the Big 10 and are among the strongest in the country. On top of having an elite defense, the Nittany Lions have an elite pass game centered around star WR Jahan Dotson. This is a defense like Penn State has never seen so far this season, on top of that Iowa has a history of knocking off top 5 teams at home. The Penn State D-Line will need to stop Goodson and the Iowa rungame to win. This game will most certainly be a defensive shootout, and I can't say that this game will be easy for either team.

Final Score: Penn State 17-14

2 Georgia @ 18 Auburn

Georgia comes into the game ranked #2 and is coming off a 37-0 shutout of #8 Arkansas. Although Georgia looks like and should be a clear favorite in this game, looks can be deceiving. JT Daniels, the star Georgia QB, is currently listed as questionable for the game, although he threw some soft passes in Tuesday's practice, his current condition for the game is unknown. To add on to that, Auburn has a reputation of beating top 5 teams at home; in 2019 they beat #5 Alabama in a shootout 48-45, in 2017 they beat #1 Alabama 26-14, and they beat #1 Georgia 40-17 back in 2017. And with a top running game with Tank Bigsby and Jarquez Hunter who are capable of beating up this elite Georgia defense, I'm going to go with Auburn.

Final Score: Auburn 35-20

6 Oklahoma vs 21 Texas

#6 Oklahoma had high hopes for at the beginning of the season, but after an embarrassingly close win against Tulane at home in Week 1, and having a major scare in Week 3 against Nebraska, a last minute field goal for the win at home against West Virginia and a close game against Kansas State where they almost let up a massive comeback, it is now clear that Oklahoma has a lot of problems, on both sides of the ball with QB Spencer Rattler already throwing four interceptions this season. They are coming into a game against a Texas team with a Heisman front runner in Bijan Robinson I'm going with Texas.

Final Score: Texas 40-31

14 Notre Dame @ Virginia Tech

Notre Dame is coming off a 24-13 home loss to #5 Cincinnati"," snapping a 26 game home win streak. In that game"," Notre Dame QB Jack Coan went 14/22 for 114 yards and an interception before being benched for sophomore Drew Pyne. It is clear that Notre Dame has lots of issues at QB at the moment, and it seems that there will be no easy answer for their QB problems. And with Va Tech at home at night, and with their defense going up against a struggling Notre Dame offense, I'm going with the Hokies. In a close game.

Final Score: Virginia Tech 24-21
