Matchup of the week!

NY State of Mind (Ms. Lingenheld) VS. The Stanley Kupp (Ms. Thaler)

Score:

(2-1) Lingenheld- 114.94 (3-0) Thaler- 144.38

MVP: The Stanley Kupp's Devin Singletary (24.1 fantasy points)

LVP: NY State of Mind's Carson Wentz (8.64 fantasy points)

This was a game for Ms. Lingenheld and NY State of Mind to prove themselves. Instead, they come out of the game with the first loss of the season. There is one thing about Ms. Lingenheld's lineup that stood out. It wasn't the fact that Ms. Lingenheld's QB Carson Wentz scored 8.64 points, it was the fact that Keenan Allen was starting for Ms. Lingenheld, even though he was ruled out before the game. This means that NY State of Mind played with one less player, causing her to lose. Other than that, Ms. Lingenheld got good production from Marquis Brown and Saquon Barkely, but those were the only players that really did well for her team. NY State of Mind is going to need a bounceback week next week as she is facing WIN Time. That is right, Husband VS. Wife for Week 4. In the meantime, it is a 2-1 record for Ms. LIngenheld.

This was a very good week for Ms. Thaler. Coming into this week The Stanley Kupps knew that they had to score a lot of points to beat the undefeated NY State of Mind. Well, they beat them alright. Scoring a solid 144 points will always help to increase your chances of winning. Strong performances from Devin Singletary and Mark Andrews helped out as they combined for just over 50 points. One thing that needs to be addressed is that Ms. Lingenheld didn't check her lineup giving Ms. Thaler the advantage to win. This is a situation that people need to keep their eye on. Cheating? Teaming up? These are questions that you have to ask. Still, Ms. Thaler put up a lot of points, making her record stay undefeated. She is now 3-0.

Game 2:

Austin 3:16 (Mr. Fischer) VS. WIN Time (Mr. Lingenheld)

Score:

(0-3)Fischer- 92.08 (1-2)Lingenheld- 178.32

MVP: WIN Time's Lamar Jackson (39.42 fantasy points)

LVP: Austin 3:16's Chargers Defense (-6 fantasy points)

It is another loss for Mr. Fischer and Austin 3:16. Nobody on his team got more than 20 points. There has to be some changes made or else this team will keep heading in the wrong direction. This week there is an exception just because 170 points were scored against him. The thing is, Austin 3:16 only scored 92 points which would have made him lose to every team in the league this week besides one. Mr. Fischer moved to 0-3 and is now one of two teams that haven't had a win this year. Something has to change for this team.

Congratulations to Mr. Lingenheld for his first win of the season! This win wasn't a cheap one as WIN Time scored a whopping 178 ponts! Only two players got under 10 points, and six players got over 15 points. Mr. Lingenheld must be feeling amazing and confident after this week. Now, all the focus for him has to be on next week. As said earlier, it is a Husband VS. Wife matchup in week 4. This is a crucial win for both Ms. and Mr. Lingenheld because of bragging rights. There is one not so great thing about Mr. Lingenheld. He is an Eagles fan. This is going to make it a lot harder to root for him next week therefore giving Ms. Lingenheld my vote to win. Other than that, it is still a happy week for WIN Time as they improve their record to 1-2.

Game 3:

Puppy Bowl (Mr. Byrnes) VS. 203 Othrus (Mr. Leavy and Mr. Moskowitz)

Score:

(1-2) Byrnes- 95.86 (3-0) Levy and Moskowitz- 101.0

MVP: 203 Orthrus' Jalen Hurts (27.6 fantasy points)

LVP: Puppy Bowl's Alvin Kamara (7.3 fantasy points)

It was a disappointing week for Puppy Bowl. The team was projected to score 128 points, but ended up getting 33 less than that with 95. I had a nice talk with Mr. Byrnes this week. I tried to bring up the state of his team but he still seemed to have some faith in the players. Mr. Byrnes already is going through a lot as he is a fan of the Jets. Not only did his team lose, so did the Jets. Nobody on Puppy Bowl scored more than 16 points. Nobody really did too bad for the team this week, but 95 just wasn't enough to do it. This will have to be something Mr. Byrnes will have to move on with as he moves to a tough 1-2 record.

Mr. Levy and Mr. Moskowitz came into this week undefeated and left it that way. Even though scoring 101 points is never something to cheer about, a win did come out of it. Jalen Hurts carried the team this week as he has more than a quarter of the team's points. Other than Hurts, nobody else did well. This could make it tough for 203 Orthrus in the following weeks as no team can win with only one player. There was some bad new for Mr. Levy and Mr. Moskowitz as Sterling Sheperd tore his ACL, which means he will miss the remainder of the season. All the decisions about this term moving forward will be made in the upcoming days. As for now, 203 Orthrus sits tied on top the leaderboards with an undefeated 3-0 record.

Game 4:

Executive Fumbling(Mr. Newbury) VS. The Tuck Rule Fool(Mr. DeRienzo)

Score:

(2-1) Newbury-125.6 (1-2)DeRienzo-103.58

MVP: Executive Fumbling's Josh Allen (26.7 fantasy points)

LVP: The Tuck Rule Fool's David Montgomery (1.1 fantasy points)

This was a great week for Mr. Newbury. Executive Fumbling now has a winning record, which is important for Mr. Newbury's trust for the team. After talking with Mr. Newbury earlier in the week, it seemed as though he had no idea what he was doing and didn't have any confidence in his team. This seems to be a common theme for many of the teachers as they too are also not great at fantasy football. No matter what, somebody has to win every game, and with performances like these from Executive Fumbling, there are going to be more wins coming for him. As of now, the team sits at a solid 1-2 record.

This was a tough week for Mr. DeRienzo. After an incredible week last week where the team put up 172 points, it is expected that the team still does well the next week. This is not how it worked with The Tuck Rule Fool as they put up 100 points. Running Backs are going to be a big problem for Mr. DeRienzo this year and this week showed why, as they scored a total of 6 points which isn't going to cut it. For this team to be good, a trade is going to have to be made for a running back of some sort because that is a very important position. This loss is a bad one as it puts the team to a losing record at 1-2.

Game 5:

BKLYN's OWN (Mr. Jackson) VS. Sacco Squad (Mr. Sacco)

Score:

(2-1) Jackson- 109.76 (2-1) Sacco- 86.16

MVP: BKLYN's OWN's James Robinson (20.6 fantasy points)

LVP: Sacco Squad's Justin Jefferson (4.4 fantasy points)

It was a rough week but Mr. Jackson somehow managed to win. As explained before, putting up 100 points in a week isn't a good way to win, but if you go against the lowest scoring team of the week like Mr. Jackson did, it is easy to win. Nobody on BKLYN's OWN did well besides James Robinson who put up 20. It seems as though fantasy football is a mix between skill and luck because Mr. Jackson went against a team in which each of the players averaged out with 8 points per player. Next week will be a better test for Mr. Jackson, but for now BKLYN's OWN's record stands at 1-2.

A bad week for Sacco Squad gives Mr. Sacco his first loss of the season. A total of 4 players got over 10 points and one of them was his defense. Of course this is just one week and there are still plenty of games to go, but Mr. Sacco does have some decisions to make in this upcoming week. There are some ways to look at this week in a good way though. Justin Jefferson put up 4 points, but he is one of the top receivers in the league, so he will be getting more points next week no matter what. That is about it for the good things because of how bad this week was. Once again, one loss isn't the end of the world as Sacco Squad loses their first game of the season and they now have a record of 2-1.

Game 6:

Speed Rules (Mr. Carone) VS. Antonio's Exit Plan (Mr. Swallen)

Score:

(1-2) Carone- 135.9 (0-3) Swallen- 110.64

MVP: Speed Rules' Chris Olave (23.7 fantasy points)
LVP: Antonio's Exit Plan's Tua Tagovailoa (11.44 fantasy points)

One of these teams had to win this game and Speed Rules came out on top. Nobody on Mr. Carone's team did amazing, but nobody really did that bad. Mr. Carone must have had a sigh of relief after Joe Burrow (QB) finally had a good week after struggling in the past weeks. One player to look at on this team is Chris Olave. The Saints rookie WR is having a great start off to the year and seems to be getting better after every game. If he continues to play well, Mr. Carones' team may not be so bad after all. This is a win to be excited about for Mr. Carone as his team wins their first game of the year and increases their record to 1-2.

Mr. Swallen's team reminds me of something Ms. Thaler said in an email to me, "Another week, Another win," but instead of another win, it is another loss for Antonio's Exit Plan. This year, Mr. Swallen drafted Christian McCaffrey early so that he could carry his team, but instead, the star RB is not playing too great. If this continues, a win might be something that won't come too soon because nobody else on the team has shown that they can put up a lot of fantasy points consistently. This team needs an upgrade at almost all of their positions if they want to start winning games. In the meantime, Antonio's Exit Plane sits at a rough 0-3 record.

Teacher Interview:

This week is Mr. Lingenheld

Q: How does it feel to win a game?

A: It feels bad to lose and it feels good to win. If I could have spread out the 170 points that I scored this week and put that into other weeks so that I scored 110 points every week that would be nice, but I'll take the win.

Q: What did you do differently this week?
A:I dropped that Broncos TE and I picked up Evan Engram, and that didn't do anything for me. I watched the Browns game on Sunday night because I had their defense and the defense got a touchdown. I went double WR at flex, and I started Devonte Smith who had a big week.

Q: Is fantasy football all luck?
A: Well I don't think so, but part of it is luck.

Q: Do you have any hope in your team?
A:100%. I think Lamar Jackson is the real deal. I took a bunch of rookies that could be really good. I have a lot of pass catchers. I'm always hopeful

Q:What do you think your final record will be at the end of the season?

A: I think I am going to be above .500. I think Lamar alone will make it impossible to go under .500. I would say 9-8 is my floor. I think I can get 2-3 games above that.

Q: If there was a loser punishment, what would you want it to be?
A: Being the faculty member at the commencement ceremony. Giving a speech in which fantasy football is the metaphor you use.

Q: What is your favorite team?

A: Eagles
