NFL Weekly Disappointments: Week 10 (edition 1)

by: Jacob Cotton

Worst Game of the Week

Titans vs Broncos (17-10)

This game was abysmal, the Titans' offense is never really that exciting to watch, and pairing that with the awful Broncos team we've seen this year, yea, you can guess how exciting that was. The Broncos offense was led by Russell Wilson, and mostly Cortland Sutton making incredible catches, but the Broncos offense was very bad only scoring a total of 10 points, but let's give them the benefit of the doubt, the Titans have a great defense. However, the Titans being bad on offense wasn't as excusable, especially considering how this Broncos defense has played, and without Bradley Chubb.

Biggest Blowout of the Week

Dolphins vs Browns (39-17)

While, yes, the score margin doesn't look as bad as a "blowout" game would be considered to have, if you had watched this game there was no point in which the Dolphins would've been at risk of losing, and were firmly in control of the game the whole game, they could stuff the run, and shut down Kareem Hunt, and kind of denied Nick Chubb a lot. Brisset didn't look good passing, and Tua looked more like an MVP candidate than an above-average game manager.

Biggest Embarrassment of the Week

Cowboys Blow 14 point lead vs Green Bay in 4th (31-28 OT)

The Cowboys' record in games they led by 14 in the 4th quarter before this game was 145-0, and it is not easy to win a game down 14 in the 4th, yet Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense (Christian Watson) were able to do it. I am aware there were some missed calls such as a somewhat obvious PI on Ceedee Lamb, but I don't think that should be an excuse for your team to completely flatten out and do nothing for 2 quarters including overtime.

Fantasy Disappointment of the Week

Cordarrelle Patterson (RB, Falcons)

Personally, I had him starting because I thought, hey he's playing in the rain against a bad Panthers team, no, it didn't work out for him. Patterson was shut down when he was trying to gain yards with 3.6 YPC and wasn't useful in the pass with one catch for 2 yards, he didn't rush much vs the Panthers as the Falcons weren't able to chew clock much.

Least Valuable Player of the Week

AJ Brown (WR, Eagles)

Brown played a terrible football game vs the Commanders, he may have been injured during the game, but that doesn't excuse his dropped pass causing an interception, and having been blanketed the whole game, he also ended up tripping on a crucial 3rd down causing 4th. Overall a very bad performance from the star WR.

Runner-up for Least Valuable Player of the Week

Anthony Brown (CB, Cowboys)

I almost gave this award to Cowboys QB Dak Prescott, however, I think the Christian Watson TD, at the beginning of the game, is going to doom the NFL, Watson had been very unconfident after his first TD drop vs the Vikings, but ever since the catch vs Anthony Brown he'd played so much more aggressive, and caught a whole 3 touchdowns, overall Anthony Brown has ruined the NFL for everyone, Christian Watson OROY season upcoming.

Least Valuable Defensive Player of the Week

Christian Kirksey (LB, Texans)

As I do every weekend, when the Eagles aren't playing at the same time, I watched the Texans play and watched Kirksey destroy my temporary mental state for 4 hours of my life. While Christian Harris the rookie in his 3rd NFL game looked amazing the 8-year veteran looked more like Harris should be looking, he constantly gets baited by play-action and is a liability in run defense, I would be surprised if he starts for any teams at all next year.

Least Valuable Offensive Player of the Week

Kenneth Walker III (RB, Seahawks)

I am well aware he was very good for the Seahawks in the passing game, but 10 carries for 17 yards is inexcusable. He didn't look explosive in the run at all this week, he averaged 1.7 YPC, and didn't score any TDs, the Seahawks have asked him to carry a large portion of their offense recently, and no we can see the consequences of when he isn't playing well.
