Middle School Students Celebrate in Spooktacular Style
by: Donna Otavalo
Boo! Last Friday, the Wooster Middle School had its second annual Halloween Spooktacular party on the middle school terrace. To mark the Spooktacular's beginning, students danced as a flash mob to "Thriller." Everyone enjoyed popcorn, pizza, pumpkin whoopie pies, and cider. This year they added a s'mores station where everyone makes s'mores! Everyone enjoyed this station. There was live music and a DJ. Mr. L said, "This year we will have an actual DJ and not some teacher pretending to be a DJ."
During the trick-or-treat, many students rushed to get candy, but they had to wait until their grade was called. Many parents volunteered for face painting, trunk or treat, and other stations. Car trunks were decorated with different themes. For example, one was a mini carnival trunk where you pick a duck; whatever number was underneath the duck is the amount of candy you got. There was another event in which whoever guessed the right amount of candy in the jar got to keep it. Many people tried to guess, but the winner was Khloe Cruz '30.
"It was a good time to talk to peers and just have fun on campus," Alex Clyne '27 said. "It was Spooktacular!" said Davis Goldblat '27 and Lucy Newman '27. Many people enjoyed this event. Everyone's costume was amazing but some others did not wear their costume and saved it for Monday the 31st. Personally, I enjoyed this event. It was really fun and everyone was socializing with each other. I can't wait to do it again next year!
