Class Notes - September 2017

Class of 2011

Christopher (Kris) McCormick '11 was awarded the degree of Master of Music in Composition from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University in May 2017. He completed his graduate studies at Peabody as a student of Pulitzer Prize winning composer Kevin Puts. Kris earned a BM in Music composition from Susquehanna University in 2015, where he studied with composer Patrick Long. He now resides in Baltimore, where he is composing his own new music as well as orchestrating a symphonic work by a living composer.

Victoria Haynes '11 is an artist with a focus on sculpture fabrication. She participated this Summer in an exhibition titled, Peter Peter at an Upper East Side Gallery in New York City. Tori acquired a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2015.

Class of 2009

Catherine Plummer '09 married Mykhaylo Panchishak on August 26, 2017 in Moultonborough, NH. Wooster School is lucky to have Catherine on campus everyday as an Admissions Associate, Clubs Coordinator and Varsity Girls Soccer Coach.

Maria Santacaterina '09 is the Director of Member Experience at Bright Cellars based in Milwaukee, MN. Founded by two MIT graduates, Bright Cellars uses algorithms to match members to wines they'll like. It starts with a simple quiz to build a profile. From there, members get paired with their wines on a monthly basis and Maria's Wine Concierge team handles the rest!

Class of 2007

Jose Espinosa '07 is currently studying for his Master of Fine Arts degree at the Yale School of Drama. He was recruited to play baseball at Amherst College where he studied English and Theater and graduated in 2011. After living in Los Angeles and New York City, he's back on a college campus.

Class of 2005

Pam Murray Quinlan '05 is a lyricist, composer and playwright based in London and New York City. She is currently in pre-production for her off Broadway play, "God Save Queen Pam," and it will debut in June 2018. Pam is also the director of the non-profit Sing 2 Give, whose mission is to supply homeless shelters with instruments and music lessons for children.

Class of 2002

Griffin Anthony '02 a singer and songwriter, with a "stunningly persuasive and soulful voice" will be performing around Fairfield County and New York region this Fall. To view tour dates, check out his website here.

Class of 1978

Susan Jackson Rodgers '78 recently published the novel This Must Be the Place (Switchgrass Books, 2017). This compelling, lyrical novel explores the search for the identity, love, friendship, and home, and celebrates the magic and mystery that exist in even the most ordinary places. It is available on amazon.com. Susan is also the writer of two story collections and her fiction has appeared in several journals.

It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of our treasured lifelong friend Joe Grover on July 3, 2017. He was 97 years old. Joe's life will be celebrated during the Chapel Service of Remembrance on Saturday, October 21 at Noon on campus.

"If you do not know anything about the character and personality and talent of Joseph Grover or Eunice Grover, then there is no way for you thoroughly to understand what the essence of Wooster is" - John D. Verdery, The Essence of Wooster, written in 1976
