Posted 09/11/2018 11:44AM

This morning at 8:45 am, the Wooster Middle and Upper School communities paid tribute to the first responders and victims of September 11, 2001.

Gathered by the campus flag pole, Chaplain Stephen Tickner opened the ceremony with a few words for the community and then James Marshall Chapel Prefect, Alan Jos '19, led the gathering in the Wooster School prayer. Following the prayer, Claire Simard, Coordinator of Performing Arts, sang "You'll Never Walk Alone."

Head of School Matt Byrnes remarked, "Today is about not only about remembering the past, but looking towards the future. It is a day to think about the ways we can make a positive impact on the world and on our country." He then shared a poem with the community, Of History and Hope by Miller Williams.

The service concluded as Mrs. Simard led the gathering in the singing of "Michael Row the Boat Ashore."
