Upper School

The careful perception of form, line, light, contrast, texture, and color in the world around us is essential to the creation of art. Being able to work with visual information requires exposure to materials, methods, and concepts. Understanding and using creative energy productively requires play and experimentation. The ability to express oneself requires courage and the supportive atmosphere of a community that values the individual.

Expectations are higher in Upper School art classes than in Middle School; classes require mature work habits and greater concentration.
